Red Cross Houston area CEO to address county Rotary Club
Davis Henderson, CEO of the Greater Houston Area Chapter of the American Red Cross since August 2004, will speak to the Washington County Rotary Club at noon at Brenham Country Club Thursday.
The Houston Red Cross Chapter serves 18 counties which have 5 million inhabitants. The chapter is the fourth largest of the Red Cross' 880 Chapters.
Prior to coming to Houston, Henderson served as CEO of the Tampa Bay Chapter since 1998 and has a long and distinguished history of Red Cross service. Before Tampa, he worked for 15 years in senior management positions in the Red Cross.
Henderson was general manager of the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago. Prior to that he was in Stuttgart, Germany as the manager of American Red Cross European Operations, where he supervised 21 field offices in 11 countries.
He started his Red Cross career at its national headquarters as personnel director from 1984-91.
Before joining the Red Cross, Davis worked for the Peace Corps as an officer in Washington, D.C. and country director in Malaysia. He started as a Peace Corps volunteer in Ecuador.
He received his BA in business and history from Hamilton College in upstate New York. He has completed advanced business and management courses at Georgetown and Harvard Universities.
The Washington County Rotary Club meets each Thursday at noon at Brenham Country Club. The club was formed in 2002 and was chartered with 58 members.
