American Legion Boys State participants

Normally Boys State is held at the University of Texas at Austin and is a hands on learning experience. However this year due to COVID-19, it was decided rather than being canceled the event, it would be held virtually. The participants spent many hours on the computer daily, over the course of the event, showing that these seven men have the dedication and interest to learn what our state government process is about and becoming better informed citizens. This American Legion program started in 1935, and is one of the leading citizenship programs in the nation. Those participating were, from left, Justin Counts, Derrick Chovanec, Ethan Kuhn, Mason Dallmeyer, Carter McVean, Mauricio Chandler and Reginald DeLaney.
