While I was in high school, my church youth group often discussed the idea of going to church and being wrong about the existence of God versus not going, ignoring God's teachings and ultimately discovering God does exist.

As high schoolers, we took a proactive approach to our salvation, saying that we would rather go to church and practice Christianity and be completely wrong about heaven and hell than ignore the church’s teachings out of doubt that God exists and possibly end up in hell.
