Those who exercised patience during COVID-19’s almost two-month shutdown are set to be rewarded Monday — with exercise.

As part of Phase 2 of Gov. Greg Abbott’s ReOpen Texas initiative begins Monday, with fitness facilities headlining the list of businesses set to resume operation.

Ready to Open

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Baker’s gym, which also has a location on Market Street, has been shut down since late March. Gyms across Texas will reopen on Monday as part of Phase 2 of Gov. Greg Abbott’s Reopen Texas initiative.

Stationed for sanitization

New sanitation stations, as seen above, have been installed inside Brenham Fitness Center locations at 1113 Prairie Lea St. and 2106 S. Market St. ahead of Monday’s reopening of fitness centers across Texas. The reopenings are part of Phase 2 of Gov. Greg Abbott’s Reopen Texas initiative. Due tot he COVID-19 pandemic, Brenham Fitness Center has been closed since late March.

Simply Wright Fitness

Simply Wright Fitness, located at 216 E. Main St. in Brenham, remains closed for now, but will open Monday as part of Phase 2 of Gov. Greg Abbott’s Reopen Texas initiative. The gym, which just enjoyed its 1-year anniversary in February, has been closed since late March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
