Kids attending Brenham ISD had the start date to their school year pushed back Tuesday as teachers prepare to instruct students both online and in-person during the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic.

Citing a need to better prepare teachers and staff for new methods of instruction, as well as prevention of COVID-19, Brenham ISD Interim Superintendent of Schools Huey Kinchen proposed during an emergency meeting of the Brenham ISD Board of Trustees that the district move its start date to Tuesday, Aug. 25.
