Brooks spells way to S-U-C-C-E-S-S for 2nd time

Corbin Brooks, 8, thinks hard as he spells the word “picaresque” to win the 65th annual Washington County Spelling Bee Tuesday evening at Alton Elementary. Brooks outlasted Sadaf Shireen through 25 rounds head-to-head before Shireen stumbled on the word “paparazzo.” Brooks, a third grader at Alton Elementary School and the son of Bill and Carol Brooks, won the bee for the second year in a row.
