Following an executive session Thursday, Brenham City Council unanimously approved a one-year extension for the contract for City Manager James Fisher and upped his salary to $166,000 from $162,464.

Mayor and city council rang their praises for Fisher at the meeting, saying they have great confidence in his leadership and are proud of how he has performed under pressure during a pandemic.
