Painted red

One of the ways the former military truck was converted to a firefighting apparatus included painting it red.

A converted military truck will help firefighters when battling wildland fires.

The Burton Volunteer Fire Department converted a 2.5-ton military Stewart Stevenson truck into a firefighting apparatus. The truck is an excess military vehicle from the Department of Defense Firefighter Property Program. Both programs are administered by the Texas A&M Forest Service.
