Popular attraction

The Star of the Republic Museum — with its unique star design — is a popular tourist attraction, drawing thousands of visitors each year.

Legislation that would transfer management of the Star of the Republic Museum from Blinn College to the Texas Historical Commission (THC) is drawing widespread support.

State Sen. Lois Kolkhorst (R-Brenham) and state Rep. Ben Leman (R-Grimes County) have introduced bills placing the museum at Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site under the THC.
