Editor’s note: Banner-Press Community Editor Jason May joined Washington County EMS personnel on an eight-hour overnight shift Friday into Saturday.

On any given night in Washington County, the Emergency Medical Services department is working full time and at full speed to keep the residents of the county safe. Employees respond to calls for anything from a head-on collision on Highway 290, to a heart attack, to a transport from the Brenham Hospital to another facility.
