Benowain Burrus went to be with the Lord on Nov. 22, 2018 at the age of 81 after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Hale Center, Texas on June 9, 1937. She graduated from Plainview High School. She married the love of her life, Thomas Neil Burrus, on Feb. 5, 1956 and together they had three children. They lived most of their lives in Dumas, Texas where she owned an antique store and flower shop. She had an eye for antiques and interior decorating and enjoyed continuing this as a hobby throughout her life. They moved to Brenham in 1992 and she was an active member in their church, the Brenham Church of Christ. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her family, friends, and church family.

She is survived by her husband Thomas Neil Burrus, her daughter Lisa Willitts and husband Peter, her son Roddy Burrus and wife Angela, and her daughter-in-law Rebecca Burrus. She is survived by her grandchildren Alan Williams and wife Amy, Amy K. Williams, Hollie Sheffield and husband Adam, Riley Burrus, and Justin Burrus and wife Emily; and her great-grandchildren Emma and Lillie Williams and Margaux Burrus. She is preceded in death by her son Thomas Neil Burrus II, her grandson Thomas Jason Burrus, her parents Dewey and Agnes Billington, and her sisters Mozelle and Marjorie.
