Darwin Dale Macat of New Ulm, Texas, was called home on January 21, 2023. He passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Holy Name Passionist Retreat Center after fellowship with some of his closest friends.

Born in Bellville, he was the son of Otto and Imogene Hoppe Macat. He is survived by his two brothers and sisters-in-law, Doug and Joanne Macat and Delphine and Frances Merkel; brother-in-law Richard Goodlette; his four children, Kristi, Kristal, Jonathan and Joshua Macat; his grandchildren, Cosmo Upton, Gregory and Trysten Macat and Ava and Anlyn Gardner; his great-grandson, Eli James; and many much-loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Dorothy Goodlette.
