Reflection​ ​of​ ​Life funeral services for Maggie Sanders-Mathis, 49, of Brenham, will be Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017 at 11 a.m. in Brenham at the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 704 West Jefferson. Burial will follow in the Zion Hill Cemetery ion Burton. Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 8, 2017 from 2 until 8 p.m. in the Chapel of the Lewis Funeral Home. Ms. Mathis went home to be with the Lord Dec. 1, 2017 in College Station with her husband, children and mother at her side.

On​ ​Nov.​ ​17,1968​ ​a​ ​baby​ ​girl​ ​was​ ​born​ ​to​ ​Florence​ ​Sanders and​ ​Johnny​ ​Roger​ ​Williams​ ​they​ ​named​ ​her​ ​Maggie​ ​Lee​ ​Sanders. Maggie​ ​grew​ ​up​ ​in​ ​Chappell​ ​Hill​ ​​ ​she​ ​attended​ ​Brenham​ ​High School.​ ​She​ ​later​ ​moved​ ​to​ ​Brenham​ ​​ ​where​ ​she​ ​was​ ​employed at​ ​Sweetbriar Nursing Home,​ ​also​ ​for​ ​the​ school​ district​ ​and​ ​her​ ​final​ ​job​ ​was working​ ​home​ ​health​ ​with​ ​the​ ​elderly.​ ​Maggie​ ​gave​ ​her​ ​life​ ​to​ ​Christ​ ​at an​ ​early​ ​age.​ ​She​ ​was​ ​a​ ​member​ ​of​ ​New​ ​Hope​ ​M.B.C​ ​under​ ​the leadership​ ​of​ ​the Rev.​ ​Aidsand​ ​Miles​ ​Sr.​ ​She​ ​later​ ​met​ ​and​ ​married​ ​Earl Mathis​; ​to​ ​this​ ​marriage​ ​no​ ​children​ ​were​ ​born.
