I hope our readers managed to stay warm over the past week after a crazy arctic blast hit Brenham and the rest of Texas. I was lucky enough to only lose power on Sunday due to ice accumulating on power lines, and was not subject to rolling blackouts Monday or Tuesday.

I had planned to celebrate Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend that weekend by going to WildFlyer Mead Co. in Navasota. It was hovering around 40º on Saturday and we decided it would be better to stay inside. We played board games and baked cookies. We drove around to deliver cookies and thought maybe popping into Blue Bell would be a fun way to waste some time.
