Waking up Wednesday morning and going to work brought a feeling of melancholy as I saw gray clouds swirling above Brenham. The rain outside the office made me a little uneasy. I then recalled feelings I have to deal with every hurricane season.

The year 2005 was a strange one for me. I was in 2nd grade, just eight years old. School had just started and I was excited for everything that year would bring. I was in a class with all my best friends, my parents had just put in a pool at our house; life was pretty good.
