After 55 years, the Westbury American Little League team still remembers and talks about its perfect season like it was yesterday.

Brenham resident William Raymer, who will be turning 96 years old next month, coached the 12-year-olds from Houston in 1966 along with manager Ray Plumb, who passed away earlier this year. Four players on the team drove to Raymer’s home Saturday — Mark Harding, Danny Wood, Trey Plumb and Billy Raymer — and reminisced about every detail and story they could remember from the season they became little league world champions.
