Burton's Cooper Lucherk

Burton senior running back Cooper Lucherk runs away from Snook’s Cameron Conerway (4) during a District 13-2A football game on Oct. 2 in Burton.

For the first time this season, the Burton Panthers entered a week of preparation on a wave of momentum.

A 36-0 shutout of District 13-2A rival Snook in Week 6 served as the first tick in the Panthers’ 2020 win column, and now Burton is tasked with keeping things going in a district road trip to Somerville at 7 p.m. Friday at Yeguas Field.
