Blinn College quarterback Michael Bishop

Blinn College quarterback Michael Bishop (right) led the Buccaneers to back-to-back national championships in 1995-96. He later went on to star for Kansas State, where he set 34 school and 14 Big 12 Conference records in 1997 and 1998. He is currently listed on the 2021 ballot for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame.

Former Blinn College quarterback Michael Bishop is listed on the 2021 ballot for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame released last week.

Bishop led the Buccaneers to their first two national championships under head coach Willie Fritz in 1995 and 1996. With Bishop under center, Blinn went 24-0 over those two seasons and became the first two-year college to win back-to-back national football championships.
